After becoming the first Registered Teacher Apprenticeship program in the state of Mississippi in 2024, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was awarded an Apprenticeship Building America grant worth $3.8 million from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Employment and Training Administration. 

Students enrolled in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s may be eligible for funding and support through the Apprenticeship Building America grant program.

Apprentice Benefits

Individuals enrolled in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's TAP pathway who are employed by our district partners may be eligible for apprentice benefits such as:

    • Online coursework through
    • Scholarships of $250 or more per semester (based on financial need)
    • Paid Praxis exam fees
    • Differentiated student supports
    • Focused Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ support and professional development

District Benefits

Incentive funding is available to support this "grow your own" effort in teacher workforce development. Incentive funds can be utilized for:

    • Professional development
    • Mentor stipends
    • Apprentice recruitment, training and on-boarding
